Job Description
The Manager, On-Air Operations will directly report to the Director of On-Air Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all operational aspects of NBC Sports and USA/CNBC event transmissions, commercial integration, and incoming and outgoing feeds
- Responsible for executing network planned contingencies/road map when scheduled LIVE event does not run to time.
- Direct communication with Senior Executives and other sports management with regards to execution for the “not-planned-for” scenarios.
- Responsible for network coordination and integration between NBC Universal properties such as NBC, USA, Golf Channel, CNBC, Peacock and NBCSG digital platforms.
- Implement new technologies for broadcast transmission and communications for both traditional and online sports programs.
- Gathers news; disseminates information among all other production staff; advance planning for shows
- React immediately to breaking news; serve as the primary news-gathering resource point person for coordinating producers, producers, talent bookers, and transmission. Works with members of NBC News Group to break news accordingly
- Manage network-level graphics, including branding, non-stop commercial graphics and client logos
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- College degree in communications /television production or related field, and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience working at a network or broadcast design agency
- Must be available for all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Characteristics:
- Informed and up-to-date on sports, sporting events and the sports world as a whole
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Have the ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
