Description
The Department of Public Health at Tewksbury Hospital is accepting applications for a Manager of External Programs. Please note: This is a 37.5 hour per week position, working Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
· Oversee facilities operations, engineering functions, grounds services, water systems, and external program infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the Tewksbury Hospital campus.
· Manage and monitor preventative maintenance programs, work order systems, records management, and operational processes to maintain regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
· Coordinate and supervise activities related to facility maintenance, utilities, sanitation, safety, energy conservation, and environmental compliance for hospital and external program buildings.
· Lead oversight of Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Preparedness standards to ensure compliance with healthcare accreditation and regulatory requirements.
· Serve as the operational lead for regulatory compliance activities, inspections, documentation management, and corrective action planning related to healthcare facility standards and codes.
· Collaborate with external vendors, program directors, contractors, architects, engineers, and state agencies to support facility improvements, infrastructure projects, and ongoing campus operations.
· Manage capital construction and facilities projects, including project tracking, bid and procurement compliance, contract oversight, and coordination with DCAMM and other regulatory entities.
· Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic planning efforts to enhance facility performance, safety, and service delivery.
· Supervise departmental staff and managers within engineering, grounds, water operations, and external program coordination functions, including performance management, scheduling, and operational oversight.
· Participate in cross-functional emergency planning initiatives and support campus-wide operational continuity efforts to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
