Job Description Summary

As a Manager, Manufacturing Technical Support, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and excellence on the shopfloor. In this role, you’ll lead a team of technical experts to champion continuous improvement initiatives, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure seamless integration of new projects—all while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance. Your strategic guidance will empower the team to deliver impactful results, foster a culture of accountability, and shape the future of manufacturing at Novartis.


 

Job Description

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of technical support specialists to drive operational excellence in manufacturing
  • Oversee MBR execution on the shopfloor and implement process changes to enhance efficiency
  • Coordinate and manage all manufacturing-related deviations, ensuring timely resolution and compliance
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for product and process knowledge, driving innovation and best practices
  • Author and close manufacturing investigations and CAPAs within defined throughput targets
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to prioritize and coordinate eMBR updates and system enhancements
  • Manage technical training programs to ensure operator qualification and end-to-end training compliance
  • Oversee change control processes for product and process modifications, ensuring regulatory alignment
  • Act as the technical point of contact for cross-functional collaboration and issue resolution
  • Champion LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement to optimize quality, productivity, and compliance

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science-related field such as Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical processes, including GMP compliance and regulatory expectations
  • Experience working in a process-oriented, self-directed organizational culture is highly desirable
  • Exposure to project management, operational excellence, product or process development, or regulatory functions is a plus

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $103,600 and $192,400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
