SUMMARY
The Manager, LTL is responsible for the management and procurement responsibility for Less-than-Truckload (LTL) transportation within the DSV Road Inc. group. This position has a background in LTL pricing, procurement, compliance and management of carriers. This position uses industry insight to contribute to the design and development of low cost carrier solutions that meet our clients’ business needs. The Manager, LTL will act as a liaison between the company and transportation providers, and will assist with P&L responsibility for DSV Road Inc. LTL team and operations.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Works with Sr. management with the development and execution strategies within the business group; including specific targets for pricing, service, quality, performance, and compliance.
•    Develops subject matter expertise in LTL Transportation through external research, benchmarking and analyzing cost drivers.
•    Provides market intelligence and price trends.
•    Works with Sr. management in identifying and understanding Company risks and opportunities.
•    Provides analysis of spend data and market trends, and dynamics to prioritize and launch sourcing initiatives within the transportation mode.
•    Supports, develops, and maintains strategy goals and initiatives through LTL Carrier Procurement and Compliance.
•    Maintains carrier database including carrier profiles and rates for DSV Road Inc.
•    Maintains and administers carrier compliance policies.
•    Supports the LTL Department and Corporate Operation Teams to promote business growth, cost savings, and provide deeper customer relationships.
•    Monitors and updates the Company on key regulatory, judicial and industry issues and decisions that affect the transportation industry.
•    Contributes to the Company’s LTL RFP’s.
•    Works with Sr. management to negotiate LTL transportation rates on behalf of DSV Road Inc. and its clients.
•    Supports projects that involve analyzing all or part of the supply chain network in support of current and potential client needs.
•    Provides support during the implementation of any new clients.
 
OTHER DUTIES
•    Assists with budget management and responsibility for the LTL team.
•    Supports the sales team on new sales opportunities and quantifying value for DSV Road Inc.
•    Reviews, updates and maintains standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
•    Performs other duties as assigned.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If any)
•    Ensures direct reports deliver projects within scope both on time and meet client / business unit expectations.
•    Builds strong team environment capable of completing multiple projects with varying degrees of deliverables.
•    Assists with the development of direct reports, “mentor”.
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education and/or Experience
•    College degree in Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Management, related field, or experience in lieu of education.
•    5 years’ experience with LTL Pricing and Operations.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
 
Computer Skills
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; i.e. Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Office
 
Language Skills
•    English (reading, writing, verbal)
 
Mathematical Skills
•    Analytical and a solid mathematics foundation is a must.
 
Other Skills
•    Extensive experience with rate negotiations, carrier contracting, hazardous material transportation and freight claims.
•    Superior leadership, planning and organizing skills.
•    Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneousl
