About the role

Alarm.com, is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager, IT Compliance to join our team.  The Manager, IT Compliance role is pivotal to Alarm and our Cloud Operations organization. We are looking for someone who is independent, hands-on, and self-directed that can own and manage all aspects of IT Compliance. This position will manage the IT compliance team and be accountable for the team members’ performance and professional development. This position reports directly to Alarm.com’s Vice President of Systems and will work closely with other senior members of IT and Cloud Operations teams to help achieve the potential of our growing department.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team to execute required testing and auditing activities for the IT Department by internal and external parties leading to successful certification of the company on an ongoing basis
  • Updates information security policies and procedures across the company and ensures they are communicated, and maintained to be sound, actionable, achievable, and auditable.
  • Ensures that Alarm.com complies with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. 
  • Prepares compliance status reports for internal management and regulatory agencies, as required. 
  • Serves as subject matter expert for IT governance, risk, and compliance requirements within the Alarm.com IT department.
  • Collaborates with other departments across Alarm.com to ensure effective communication, training, and understanding of IT policies.
  • Suggests actions to mitigate risk in any activity that potentially impacts security of existing IT and information management.
  • Trains other personnel on security policies and standards.
  • Tracks and ensures timely/comprehensive remediation of IT control deficiencies from internal and external auditors, including reviewing/evaluating control gaps or deficiencies and performing root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with process/control owners to establish remediation action plans, including achievable due dates; then review and evaluate remediated controls.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Degree preferably in Business, Information Security, Information Technology, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Proven experience working with or managing a Compliance or Audit team.
  • Demonstrated success working with internal audit, external auditors, and outside consultants.
  • Previous experience (10+ years) working in IT Audit, Compliance Consulting, or a combination of both.
  • Experience leading compliance requirements and/or audit procedures for: SOX, SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, GDPR and Privacy Shield.
