Manager I, Engineering I - App Builder Frontend

Our App Builder Frontend team is on a mission to create a product that helps engineers effortlessly spin up internal tools. The team is designing and implementing a solution to allow users to easily build UIs using a simple drag and drop interface builder. As an Engineering Manager for this team, you'll join at an ideal time to make a big impact, supporting your team and the product at an early stage.

What You'll Do:

• Manage and grow the engineering team: developing their skills, supporting their careers, and recruiting additional team members.
• Be technically involved with the team: setting technical direction, contributing to or driving architectural discussions, ensuring we ship best-in-class products, reviewing RFCs, reviewing pull requests, and sometimes contributing code yourself.
• Partner with other teams and stakeholders within Datadog to shape our roadmap.

 

Who You Are:

• You have management experience and are passionate about building a great team culture.
• You have a passion for web development and creating user interfaces that inspire joy for users. 
• You have a proven track record of executing and delivering.
• You have experience working in an environment with a high bar for reliability and security (e.g., managing on-call for a team, operating live services, having the team write RFCs).
• You have experience communicating and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $187,000 to $240,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Datadog offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
