Job Description & Summary

We work with some of the world’s largest and most complex companies to understand their unique business issues and opportunities in an ever changing environment. The post holder will provide general advice and consulting services to clients within the insurance sector such as insurers, asset and wealth managers, private equity firms and regulators. Core responsibilities will include: advice covering financial instrument modeling, business plan modeling, regulatory, rating agency and economic capital modeling, mergers and acquisitions modeling, risk management modeling, company structuring, new legislation and modeling and reporting process automation and efficiency.

Required skills and experience:

• Masters’ degree  in, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Statistics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Actuarial Science, or other quantitative fields of study. Certification as a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), or FSA (Fellow of Society of Actuaries) will be an asset

• 5  years experience in financial modeling; both public and private company experience strongly preferred;

• Demonstrated proficiency in analytical software and tools including Python, SAS, R, SQL and other applications, such as Microsoft Excel/VBA and Access;

• Demonstrated ability to: build and implement economic scenario generators and model calibration techniques; build and implement models and analytics for insurance company asset allocation, asset-liability management, transaction pricing and regulatory and rating agency capital.

• Demonstrated ability with visualization techniques for summarizing complex financial data analyses.

• Proven abilities and/or success with consulting and/or communicating complex financial concepts in a clear, concise, and understandable form tailored to the background and capabilities of the audience.

• Using proven verbal and written communication skills to interface with modelers/validators and all levels of client management.
