Manager, Engineering

DUTIES: Manage a team of software engineers following Agile practices to develop features for our next generation market intelligence platform. Manage individuals; performance via mentoring and coaching. Inspire and support the team. Partner with the Product team to consistently and frequently deliver solutions that are well-engineered, maintainable, and tested within the agreed upon timeframe. Lead by example through hands-on coding, code reviews and sprint planning. Collaborate with the product team to understand business requirements and influence technical strategy conversations across the engineering team. Position Supervises 6: 4 Senior Software Engineers and 2 Software Engineers. EOE.

REQTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered, or as a Computer Programmer, Project Lead, or a related position. Must have five (5) years of experience with all of the following: Building modern front-end applications using JavaScript; Building automated test scripts to verify software correctness; RESTful, gRPC, or GraphQL API design; Applying development best practices; Building software utilizing relational databases including MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, or Oracle; Building microservices; Working with source control systems and continuous integration; Developing in a Mac or Linux environment; and using virtualization technologies including Docker or Virtual Machines. Must also have two (2) years of experience with all of the following: Leading an engineering team and managing software engineers; Building applications using Python or Go; and deploying applications in a cloud environment including AWS, Azure, or GCE.

TRAVEL REQT: 5% domestic travel required (2 weeks per year) to attend planning sessions and/or training.

HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Please note this is a US-based role.

In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.

A little bit about our pay practices: Typically, we will hire at our Hiring Target, but actual starting pay may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, and budgetary constraints.

Compensation$145,500—$184,300 USD
