Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Associate Director, Terminal Infrastructure - Reliability ensuring all Electrical Systems in the Terminal Facilities (active terminals, parking structures, Automated People Movers (APM) stations and surface areas fed from the terminals) are available and operating at optimal standards. Lead the maintenance and lifecycle management of Electrical Systems. Ensure response to maintenance calls and repairs meets all expectations set out by the customer and implement established levels of technical performance. Supports the short (<3 months) and mid term (1 year) business strategy, influence forward-thinking employee decisions and supports the GTAA’S overall success.

 

 Key Accountabilities:

• Provide optimum life cycle management and technical performance of Electrical Systems within the Terminals
• Analyze system performance and collaboratively develops strategies for improvement
• Provide technical support for the rapid response to maintenance issues
• Management and oversight of the Electrical System contracts within the Terminal Facilities
• Develop strong customer/partner relationships to facilitate the strong working relationships with the internal clients and external customers
• Compliance with applicable health and safety and company policies, rules and regulations
• Lead people by providing coaching, guidance and development by providing relevant feedback for personal and career growth
• Develop expectations of performance and standards of excellence, audit work performance, ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures

 

The salary for this management non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.

 

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in electrical engineering and/or licensed journeyman electrician or education in aviation management or airport operations and leadership experience
• 10+ years of dynamic experience in the Electrical field
• 3+ years prior leadership experience building impactful, highly skilled and motivated teams in a unionized environment preferred
• Possess a valid Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) or equivalent certification
• A valid class “G” Ontario Driver’s license is required
• Able to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance

 

 Key Accountabilities:

• Sound knowledge of Electrical Distribution, Generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
• General Business and customer centric experience
• Demonstrated analytical skills in assessing and reviewing business processes to identify options, best practices and opportunities to improve service delivery
• Demonstrated ability to prepare process documents, policies and project documents
• Knowledge of related government legislation in the areas of construction, fire codes, building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, etc.
• Experience working and leading within unionized workforce
• High degree of initiative and innovation
• Exceptional personal drive and motivation
• Strong facilitation and influence skills
• Ability to meet timelines and lead multiple tasks and projects
