Manager, Dedicated Capacity Planning

Job Summary 

The Load Planning Manager is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the routing, resource allocation, and delivery processes across our Dedicated Operations network. This role involves leading and managing teams of load planners and fleet managers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods, while maximizing company utilization metrics and adhering to safety, regulatory, and customer service standards. The Planning Manager will the optimization processes and oversee the execution of site support functions, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions

· Oversee and ensure the execution of all load planning responsibilities for the Dedicated Operations division

· Lead, mentor, and develop employees and their teams, creating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

· Responsible and accountable for ensuring contractual compliance for on-time service performance through efficient routing of Dedicated operations

· Responsible to deliver service and cost savings across the network

· Accountable for Volume, Loaded Mile, Driver Utilization, On-Time Performance, and Cost per Mile metrics at a region level.

· Lead initiatives to optimize the utilization of power and trailing equipment, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.

· Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions

· Proactively identify and address potential opportunities or bottlenecks to prevent delays and disruptions in operations.

· Oversee the integration and utilization of technology and systems to enhance planning, execution, and reporting capabilities

· Plans and implements initiatives to improve routing and equipment utilization consistent with customer expectations and Network needs.

Drive an office culture of accountability focused on service, communication and solutions leading to an improved customer experience

· Generate a positive work environment focused on individual and team development

· Standardize processes ensuring alignment across the network

· Execute projects and reporting requirements as assigned by senior leadership, ensuring timely completion and alignment with company objectives.

· Participate in the onboarding of new customers and business

· Develop schedules for team to ensure coverage during all necessary hours

· Conduct bi yearly performance reviews for all direct reports

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree is required

· Five or more years of operations experience, in the truckload or dedicated segment, preferred

· Must possess leadership skills and have the ability to inspire, lead by example and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, customers and vendors

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and analytic ability

· Proficient with Outlook, MS office suite of programs

· Must be able to focus team on achieving personal and company goals

· Proven change management effectiveness

· Must be a self-starter and highly motivated individual

· Ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision and be the Operational office lead

Salary: $79,650 base salary + Bonus Eligibility 

This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however it may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand.
