About the role

Overview

AVIAN is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Corporate Security to oversee the strategic management and implementation of our overall security program. Based in Lexington Park, Maryland, this role will ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and will play a crucial part in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all employees and operations. The position will be supported by one direct report, Facility Security Officer (FSO), and will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining security protocols across all operational areas.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Security Oversight: Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures to safeguard personnel, assets, and information.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with government regulations, including NISPOM, DFARS, ITAR, and other applicable federal and state security standards.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend and implement corrective actions to enhance security.
  • Training and Awareness: Lead and oversee security training programs for employees, fostering a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Incident Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for security incidents and emergencies; manage and coordinate responses to incidents, including investigations and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the FSO to coordinate security-related activities and initiatives, ensuring all security measures align with company and contractual requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date security documentation, including policies, incident logs, training records, and compliance reports.
  • Security Technology Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security technologies, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare for and support internal and external security audits and inspections to demonstrate adherence to security protocols and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry best practices and trends to recommend and apply improvements to AVIAN's security program.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance required, CI/FSP preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial or corporate security management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or equivalent.
