Position Summary
IPG Mediabrands is looking for a Manager, Communications who will report to the Director of Communications. They will serve as a generalist for both internal and external communications but will primarily support employee communication by telling compelling stories that inform and inspire our community. This individual should have a strong communications background and have worked in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will have the ability to work across various corporate functions. You will be a key player focused on the building and execution of internal communication strategies in support of key functions: Culture, Human Resources, IT, Data and technology, and others. The ideal candidate is a curious and adaptable individual who is collaborative, detail-oriented, a self-starter, and has a passion for writing, storytelling and employee engagement. This position is a hybrid role in our New York office.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Director of Communications to create regional and global internal communications plans to execute company initiatives and programs.
- Draft, edit, proof, and send communication for newsletters, company Intranet, presentations, etc.
- Partner with key stakeholders across our business units including Culture, Human Resources, IT, and Technology.
- Work closely with the culture team and serve as a central point of contact to build and execute internal communication plans and strategies for employee engagement initiatives, programs, and events.
- Support with drafting and sending leadership communications.
- Ensure consistent and on-brand tone/style/voice among editorial and content.
- Manage updates on the internal communications calendar, trackers, and meetings.
- Execute templating and sending communications to the designated audience.
- Tracking corporate and industry award submissions, press tracker, media lists.
- Compile news roundups and conduct media monitoring.
- Ability to support content for press releases and award abstracts for award submissions as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or other relevant field.
- 5-7 years of experience in communications, copywriting, public relations, or marketing. Agency experience is preferable.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A team player with a can-do attitude.
- Speed and adaptability, especially when working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at a time and prioritize accordingly.
