The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Summary
Cox Communications is seeking a Manager, Accounting, to join their team! This leader will develop, recommend, and implement accounting practices throughout CCI in accordance with GAAP to ensure that financial and operating data accurately reflect the condition of the business or unit and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. This person will be an experienced manager with end-to-end ownership of one or more significant processes. Responsible for defining and driving the tactical implementation of accounting activities. Expected to review accounting information and analysis with business partners and key stakeholders. Partners in cross-functional projects to identify opportunities to add value through effectiveness measures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of Senior Analysts.
- Responsible for performing accounting analysis and maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
- Through collaboration with business partners, this role will manage end-to-end processes to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance.
- Recommend and implement accounting and financial reporting processes and policy changes.
- Manage production of various financial statements, analyses and management reports.
- Partners with cross-functional departments ensuring business needs are supported.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving work products.
- Perform variance analysis to include forecasting, prior month, and ad hoc reporting.
- Provides guidance and direction to maximize strengths. Advises others on procedures, priorities, and standard methodology.
- Primary representative for alignment with business partners.
- Provide subject matter expertise within area of focus. Resolves complex questions and/or problems.
- Propose, gain approval and monitor KPIs.
- Manage preparation of documents for the review of outside auditors.
- Perform special projects and tasks assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
- 6+ years’ work experience with 1+ years in a management or leadership role required in related field (i.e. Accounting, Finance, etc.) along with a BA/BS degree. Candidate can also have an MS degree and 4+ years’ experience, or 10+ years in lieu of a degree.
- Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle, etc.
- Excellent soft skills such as: interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
Preferred
- BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Accounting, Finance, etc.).
- 5 or more years of experience in a management role preferred.
- Experience in telecommunications industry desired.
- CPA License.
