Position

This Manager, Accelerator Operations will be responsible for the development, management and performance of the Accelerator Operations function, driving operational performance and achieving the business performance expectations in safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. This position is responsible for delivering commercial client batches, in multiple buildings on the Beloit campus, per schedule and contract obligations. This role will represent Accelerator Operations in NorthStar projects and in interactions with sponsors.

Responsibilities

Ensure staff training requirements are achieved with a key focus on employee development.

Responsible for the prioritization and manufacturing of products to meet the master production schedule.

Work with Production Planning, Purchasing and Logistics to confirm components, supplies and spare parts are available for work orders prior to the start of each manufacturing order.

Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

Work with Manufacturing and Product Development leadership, Production Planning, Logistics and Customer Support to develop and implement strategic initiatives in order to achieve business and financial goals.

Develop and sustain a Manufacturing Dashboard and monitor key operational metrics to maximize efficiencies in production and related business processes. Provide leadership, management and direction focused on results, the customer and accomplishing our goals.

Align with the MS&T and Science teams to identify gaps in production processes related to technology transfer of isotope manufacturing and process scale ups.

Early Development

After 3 months you will:

Understand foundational cGMP and just-in-time radiopharmaceutical manufacturing principles

Become a qualified Radiation Worker, trained in ALARA principles and isotope-specific safety protocols.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Science, and Engineering, to ensure timely delivery of radiopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment.

Gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology under expert supervision.

 

After 6 months you will:

Achieve Qualified Operator status with demonstrated competency to execute full batch manufacturing of novel isotopes.

Contribute to Operational Excellence by maintaining optimum KPIs and metrics to enhance production efficiency and quality.

Fully integrate into NorthStar’s mission to revolutionize oncology treatment by providing patients with global access to game-changing radiopharmaceuticals.

Develop advanced technical skills in handling sophisticated manufacturing processes and technologies, positioning yourself as a key player in an innovative and impactful field.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Science or a Technical field of study and minimum seven (7) years of progressive related experience within a highly regulated environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum two (2) years of people management experience required.

 

Experience within a nuclear radioactive isotope manufacturing environment preferred.
