About the role

Description

The Production Support Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repair/rebuild on machinery, equipment and building systems. This encompasses hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, dust collection & HVAC systems. Diagnose cause of any electrical/mechanical malfunction, plan a course of corrective action, and perform the necessary repair work to correct the problem. Install, inspect, adjust, and repair complex types of electrical systems and equipment. Install wiring and controls necessary in building new RemArms machines.

  

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Repair/rebuild machines.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions on machine/equipment/electrical & hydraulic systems. 
  • Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in diagrams or mathematical formats.
  • In depth knowledge of hand/machine tools and their functions including lathes, drill presses, grinders, rigging equipment bandsaws, milling equipment, portable power tools 
  • Servicing/wiring single and 3 phase electrical equipment
  • Install all wiring and controls necessary in building new equipment 
  • Wire interlocks, light curtains, safety relays and other electrical/mechanical safety devices 
  • Repair/troubleshoot pneumatic systems/equipment, robotic equipment, industrial machinery, CNC equipment, hydraulic systems/motors, mechanical and electrical systems  
  • Setting up and servicing programmable logic control devices
  • Servicing sanding and spraying equipment 
  • Performing preventive maintenance on various types of equipment including hydraulic & pneumatic systems
  • Full understanding of electrical drawings. Determine cause of any electrical malfunction, plan a course of corrective action, and perform the necessary repair work to correct the problem. Install, inspect, maintain, and adjust all electrical equipment and transmission lines in the operating departments of the facility. Use of various types of CNC’s, PLC’s, VFD’s and three phase electrical systems.
  • Layout, design, fabricate, install (from engineered drawings, or verbal instructions) various types of guarding, ventilations systems, industrial machinery
  • Perform basic maintenance of building systems 
  • Follow all OSHA and corporate safety policies. 
  • Respond to requests for maintenance.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, genie lifts and lifting equipment. 
  • Overtime may be required.

Education and/or Experience   

Combination of industrial maintenance education/certification and work experience 

Two years-experience in industrial maintenance 


Language Skills   

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical and mechanical drawing. Read and understand documents such as safety procedures and safety data sheets. 


Mathematical Skills   

Ability to perform basic math functions to include precise measuring. 


Reasoning Ability   

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram. Ability to troubleshoot machine performance issues and come up with a solution to fix them. 


Computer Skills  

Basic computer skills 


Other Skills and Abilities   

Ability to read English and interpret documents. Understand Safety Data Sheets and other safety documents. Mathematical concepts such as measurements, including use of precise measurement tools such as calipers. Must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios. Be able to work independently. Ability to multitask and deal with competing priorities. Ability to apply commons
