Maintenance Technician

Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to execute the maintenance, repair, and calibration of the electronic/mechanical equipment at Aerial Video System /NEP’s Field Shop, ensuring that all equipment will operate at NEP standards and fulfills client requests. We take pride in all gear shipping from the shop being 100%. This position will check and repair equipment before it ships to job sites.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Repair, calibrate, and test electronic equipment as delegated by the Chief Engineer.
• Learn to repair and maintain various computer and networking equipment used in broadcasting.
• Assist with equipment installations and faxing of mobile units.
• Provide technical assistance and training to the apprentices.
• Document faults and problems with equipment and make proper orders of parts.
• Maintain a low turnaround on equipment repairs and a high degree of accuracy in testing, calibration, and repairs.
• Contribute to the organization of the Field Shop and facilitate an efficient working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Technical or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Broadcasting related field.
• Requires 5 years of industry-related experience as a repair/maintenance technician or engineer.
• Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast management, technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and cable television networks.
• Up-to-date knowledge of latest proprietary broadcasting equipment, hardware, and software.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Local travel may be required.
• Basic understanding of electronics and willingness to learn broadcasting equipment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient computer and networking skills.
