Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with possible OT (on Saturdays)
Responsibilities:
- Inspect machinery and equipment for defects, wear, leaks, or safety issues.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and component rebuilds as needed.
- Assemble leveler roll cartridges, preassemble polishing rolls, and maintain specialty equipment.
- Maintain material handling equipment including forklifts, side loaders, and cranes.
- Rebuild and tag spare components, documenting equipment and dates for reference.
- Lead and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, ensuring timely completion.
- Accurately record all repairs and PM activities, including dates, repair types, affected equipment, parts used, and resources consulted.
- Utilize maintenance logs/workbooks or CMMS software to track activities and recommend improvements to PM programs.
- Perform general building maintenance, including electrical wiring (basic tasks), plumbing, fixtures, and structural repairs.
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, following good housekeeping practices.
- Maintain an organized parts inventory, track usage, and communicate replenishment needs to management.
- Source replacement parts as needed for repairs and PM activities.
- Follow all plant safety rules, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Properly use and maintain PPE and safety equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Knowledge of, and proper, safe use of common trade tools such as welding machine, extension lift as needed, power tools, and material handling equipment is required.
- Knowledge and possession of tools.
- Experience with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amp probes, micrometer, caliber etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and convey technical information effectively.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Basic electrical aptitude and understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook and ability to use basic computer applications.
- Minimum of High School Diploma
Physical Demand:
- Ability to spend 80% of the workday standing.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Regular standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, and kneeling throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (22.7kg) maximum occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs (11.3kg).

Work Environment:
- Work is primarily conducted in an industrial environment; which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
