Maintenance Supervisor- Machine Shop

Job Summary:

To manage all activities/personnel associated with the Machine Shop in a manner that is consistent with Hydro Cressona Operation/ Maintenance Department objectives and protocol. To minimize EHS potential, maximize productivity, improve customer service and enhance the employee’s ability to succeed while being treated with dignity and respect. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Required Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Trade School/Vo-tech Machine Shop knowledge.
• 5+ years of experience in Machine Shop/Fabrication environment.
• Experience or training equivalent to 2 years of supervisory training.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Welding, basic Metallurgical, and blueprint knowledge.

• Automotive or fleet management experience.
• Proficient at purchasing practices and working with vendors to meet the demand of new equipment, spare part inventories, and lease agreements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Promote an environment that is conducive to eliminate injuries in the Machine/Auto Shop.
• Promote the current safety programs through the use of the step back 5x5 program.
• Provide solid leadership through group leaders to maximize production and quality of work in the machinist and welding fields.  
• Provide solid leadership in the area of planning/prioritizing projects for both Maintenance and Capitol projects.
• Responsibilities include communicating with department managers, engineering, and main mill craftsmen before the job is initiated.
• Monitor and control costs associated with projects that are completed in the Machine Shop.
