Role Summary
Maintenance Supervisor - Fayetteville, North Carolina
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing maintenance activities to support the manufacturing process. They ensure program integrity as defined in work instructions/procedures and directives from the Business Unit Manager. The primary focus is to reduce production costs by minimizing unscheduled downtime through increased machine/process reliability, predictive maintenance, assigned events, and projects. The Maintenance Supervisor interfaces with operations, manufacturing engineering, and support groups.
Main Tasks
- Possess knowledge and expertise in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical.
- Coordinate maintenance requirements for projects, equipment upgrades, and process modifications.
- Lead and educate others in reliability-based maintenance.
- Monitor and report maintenance progress against plans and procedures.
- Participate in design reviews and proposals for new equipment.
- Outline required resources and timeframes for project completion.
- Supervise mechanics, ensuring compliance with standards and reviewing work performance.
- Assure employees are trained in and comply with the Maintenance system and company policies.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance personnel on assigned tasks.
- Participate in design reviews and coordinate mechanical requirements for equipment upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records per maintenance procedures and instructions.
- Resolve operational problems, streamline work processes, and improve operations.
- Establish goals, provide training, and evaluate performance of employees.
- Recommend personnel actions and maintain operational records.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist with skill deficiencies.
- Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and monitoring expenditures.
- Coordinate work activities with management, engineering, quality control, and customers.
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years shop floor experience preferred OR
- Associates Degree with 5-7 years shop floor experience
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to make critical decisions following company procedures.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Supervisory/leadership experience demonstrating the capability to manage teams.
- Planning and coordinating ability to organize maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP.
