The Maintenance Supervisor is an integral part of the Curia team, contributing to our success by supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, maintaining machinery and equipment, and managing contractor and vendor relationships.  This role is also responsible for assisting with the coordination and planning of maintenance availabilities and works to maximize equipment uptime by being a SME for various electrical and mechanical systems.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and building systems.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment, and coming up with solutions for returning them back to service.
  • Ensures that the facility and associated equipment and systems are well maintained and repaired.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Assists the PEM staff in identifying and stocking spare parts.
  • Coordinates with the Automation Engineering team to troubleshoot, maintain and modify programming of automated systems and related equipment such as programmable logic controllers and automated control and monitoring systems.
  • Coordinates mechanic work activities to align with the production activities to minimize impact to the operation.
  • Ensures Maintenance staff adheres to company policies, and enforces safety regulations.
  • Assists staff by interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work activities to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve processes to optimize equipment performance, and system availability.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve high level of work goals.
  • Maintains time and production standards.
  • Establishes specific goals and objectives of the work staff to maintain a high level of performance.  Holds work staff accountable for maintaining those standards and expectations.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Reports up to management status of critical systems
  • Read/interpret SOPs to ensure compliance
  • Maintain up to date trainings
  • Other duties as assigned

 Education and Experience:                                                          

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or relevant industry and minimum of one (1) year experience in a leadership role

OR

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or relevant industry and minimum of one (1) year experience in a leadership role
  • Industrial GMP experience in an FDA-regulated environment, strongly preferred  

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                            

Responsible for leading and supporting a team to achieve organizational objectives.  This role also involves fostering a positive work environment, providing guidance and support to your team members, and evaluating performance to drive continuous improvement and achieve both departmental and organizational objectives.
