Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor directs the work of the skilled maintenance technicians who keep the machinery, equipment, and infrastructure of the plant in good working order.   The plant is located near Franklin, approximately 35 miles south of Lafayette, LA.

Essential Duties:  

• Review maintenance schedules to ensure readiness for assigned jobs.
• Ensure that all required tools, consumables (e.g., ice, drinks, welding wire), and other job-specific materials are on hand before work begins.
• Brief work crews on job requirements, potential hazards, and endure that they are prepared to execute tasks efficiently.
• Oversee the assignment and execution of work orders, ensuring that the prioritization aligns with operational priorities, industry and Orion best practices, and safety standards.
• Drive productivity, ensure employees are working efficiently and keep their efforts focused on critical tasks.
• Supervise, direct, and coordinate contracted labor when required.
• Ensure stock levels of tools and consumables are sufficient to support upcoming tasks.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes, place requisitions, and order parts / materials for jobs

 

Qualifications: 

• A high school diploma is required.  An associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field is a plus. 
• This position requires at least five years of journeyman or equivalent experience as a pipefitter, millwright, I&E technician, or maintenance technician in a chemical plant, refinery, or similar setting. 
• At least two years of experience supervising skilled technicians in an industrial environment are required.   Relevant experience in the Armed Forces will be considered. 
• Experience in a union shop is an advantage.  
• The ability to use or quickly learn SAP is essential for success in this role.    
• The successful candidate may be required to complete a battery of pre-employment tests.
