Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing and supervising plant maintenance of rendering process equipment; ensures that equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair with a direct report to the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
- Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
- Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment.
- Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities and duties.
- Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel.
- Helps manage plant maintenance activities in Maintenance Connection (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Responsible for ensuring all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA.
- Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections.
- Manage daily inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion.
- Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory position / overseeing plant personnel in an industrial setting or in combination.
- Proficient in basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance with industrial equipment and/or combination of vocational training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in the use of computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- Experience with Maintenance Connection Software
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
- Prior rendering experience preferred.
- Advanced welding experience/skills preferred.
- Vocational school training preferred.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Team player; works well with others.
- Detail oriented; well organized.
- Good math skills.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to push, pull, or move up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms, climb steps and ladders.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in the plant which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
