Annual Salary: $35,092.51

Overtime and on-call pay eligible

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Experience working with plumbing, HVAC and electrical equipment
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Willing to be on call rotating bi-weekly
• Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.‎

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Applicants with the following experience will be given preference in hiring:

• Experience with long-term care or hospital environment
• Experience with HVAC Automation
• Experience with preventative maintenance

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent will work under the direction of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent.  The duties and responsibilities include:

• Repair and maintenance of the physical plant, property, equipment and mechanical systems of the State Veterans’ Nursing Home.
• Assist to ensure a safe environment exists in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate.
• Provide routine repair services to defective equipment, repairs physical plant deficiencies, resolves routine work orders, assists with the assembly, delivery and installation of facility equipment. 
• Document actions and outcomes of preventative maintenance
