Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is expected at all times to be aware of and abide by the Department’s Standards of Conduct, as well as any and all departmental and/or work unit rules, directives, policies, procedures, and/or general orders applicable to performing the duties of this position.
MAINTENANCE
Perform and oversee repairs and construction of park buildings and infrastructure (carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, etc.). Maintain and repair electric motors, generators, compressors, HVAC systems, sewer lift stations, and sanitary fixtures. Service and operating vehicles and equipment (cars, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, tractors, mowers, power tools). Ensure safe operation of all maintenance tools and equipment. Ensure safe operation of all maintenance tools and equipment. Monitor Park safety conditions and enforce safety protocol policies.
VISITOR SERVICES
Greet and assist visitors, providing information and directions. Promote public enjoyment and education of the park’s facilities. Address visitor concerns professionally and maintains positive public relations. Ensure ADA compliance across all facilities and programs.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Support conservation efforts including: Management of imperiled species; control of exotic and nuisance species; habitat restoration and erosion control; hydrological protection and restoration.
ADMINISTRATION
Prepare and maintain reports, logs, and records (visitor data, incidents, equipment usage, maintenance schedules). Handle purchasing, quotes, and requisitions, vehicle reports and using WORKS, WEX and OCULUS systems. Operate radios and computers. Maintain park files and correspondence.
PROTECTION
Develop and implement corrective action plans. Supervise maintenance resources and inventory. Conduct safety inspections and train staff in equipment use. Patrol Park grounds and enforce emergency procedures.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support park operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
