Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, Days — 07:00–19:00

Maintenance Engineer – The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable days-based shift pattern, excellent earning potential and the opportunity to work on a wide range of heavy industrial machinery?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established business operating within the recycling and resource recovery sector. With significant investment in the site and continued growth ahead, this is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a long-term career within a technically challenging environment.

You’ll join a growing maintenance team, working alongside another Maintenance Engineer and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

The site operates 24/7 and contains around 150 pieces of processing equipment, including conveyors, shredders, separators, fans, granulators and associated plant.

Your role will be essential in keeping the operation running safely, efficiently and reliably, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive/breakdown maintenance across the site.

Sector: Manufacuturing 

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative and routine maintenance.

Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns.

Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise plant downtime.

Maintain and improve the reliability and availability of site machinery.

Work across a diverse range of heavy industrial processing equipment.

Support the wider maintenance team in achieving high standards of safety and plant performance.

Essential Requirements

Proven maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment 

Experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.

A Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent/above.

Strong fault-finding and repair skills.

A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

Experience within heavy manufacturing 

Previous UK industrial maintenance experience.

Forces or ex-military engineering background.
