The Rochester Cement Terminal, located on the Genesee River, serves as a key distribution hub for Heidelberg Materials. Bulk cement arrives by cargo vessel and is offloaded using a modern pneumatic system, transferring the material directly into large on-site storage silos. From there, the cement is either loaded into bulk trucks for regional delivery or routed to packaging systems for bagged product distribution. Serving as a vital link in New York’s cement supply chain, the Rochester Terminal operates with precision and safety to efficiently move materials from river to site.

What You'll Be Doing

• Load and unload cargo from vessels and trucks.
• Operate forklifts and other terminal equipment
• Inspect and maintain equipment for safety and functionality
• Manage inventory and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation.

What Are We Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and safety, with excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment as well as hand/power tools
• Experience with equipment maintenance or repair, either on the job or through personal projects.
• Physical capability to handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy objects and comfortability with heights
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
• Hours: 6a - 3:30pm but occasional overtime and on-call to meet business needs.
