Maintenance Assistant

Principal Duties and Responsibilities*:
•Machine Cleaning Expertise
o Knowing how to properly clean different types of machinery, including CNC machines, milling machines, lathes, etc., using appropriate cleaning solutions and techniques.
•Chemical Handling
o Understanding the safe use and application of industrial cleaning chemicals, including proper dilution and disposal procedures.
•
Tool Proficiency
o
Skillful use of cleaning tools like brushes, mops, rags, sponges, vacuums, floor scrubbers, and specialized cleaning equipment designed for industrial applications.
•Safety Awareness
o Adhering to safety protocols when cleaning around machinery, including proper PPE usage and awareness of potential hazards like coolant spills.
•Waste Disposal
o Proper disposal of cleaning materials, metal shavings, and other debris generated during the cleaning process.
•Floor Maintenance
o Sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing shop floors to maintain cleanliness.
•Basic Mechanical Knowledge
o Understanding the basic mechanics of machines to effectively clean components and identify potential cleaning issues.
•Taking out metal recycling with forklift cleaning and maintaining the shop floor, machinery tools, and surrounding areas by removing debris, oil pans, grease, coolant spills, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms/office area and break room generally ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a manufacturing shop environment. Will need to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. No travel is expected.

Education/Experience:
•Minimum 2 years’ experience
•Worked in manufacturing environment preferred.
