Job Title: Maintenance Apprentice
Position Classification: Non – Exempt - Hourly

Job Summary:  As the Maintenance Apprentice your job will be to keep the facility equipment running and make sure all necessary repairs are performed accurately and safely. You will need to be a self-starter, understand which repairs take priority over others, and have time management skills.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, install, adjust, lubricate, and maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant.
•    Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, determine the problem and implement the repair.
•    Perform tasks such as removal, installation, alignment, leveling, and coupling of rotating equipment.
•    Inspect mill equipment, chains, belt conveyors, and gear boxes/drive chains for maintenance or repair.
•    Assist home office with custom fabrication of tooling and equipment, from a crude rough sketch to a functioning piece of equipment.

Education:
•    High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience:
•    Welding
•    Electrical
•    Maintenance: 1 year (Required)
Preferred three years’ experience as a maintenance employee

•    Good attention to detail.
•    Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
