What You’ll Do

As a Machine Shop Apprentice, you’ll be part of our Engineered Fastening Team located in Danbury, CT. You’ll get to: 

Job Description:

We are seeking a high-school student, currently enrolled in one of the CT tech schools in the precision machining trade to join our team as a Toolmaker/Machinist Apprentice.

The apprentice will job shadow leads in the machine shop and tool room at our facility in Danbury, CT. In the machine shop they will be part of the team that provides custom tooling for both internal and external customers of our business. This will include training on Bench, milling, lathe, grinding and various CNC machines.

The apprentice will log their hours in accordance with the CT apprenticeship program and work towards their Certification. Also will participate in Work Based Learning Program.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in Precision Machining Program at CT Tech school
• Completed NIMS
• Ability to run and program various CNC machines
• Ability to stand/walk 95% of the day
• Full dexterity of hands
• Able to lift up to 35lbs as needed.
