Manufacturing Operator 2 is a skilled operator responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining automated production equipment in a regulated environment. This role combines technical expertise, quality assurance, and operational efficiency to support high-volume manufacturing. The operator will work independently and collaboratively to ensure consistent product quality, troubleshoot equipment issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Set up, operate, and shut down automated production lines, including managing changeovers and adjustments.
· Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks; identify and escalate equipment repair needs.
· Troubleshoot machine faults and resolve basic performance or quality issues.
· Accurately document production, quality, and maintenance activities in compliance with GMP standards.
· Monitor and improve operational metrics such as output, scrap, and downtime.
· Use SAP to manage inventory and production data; utilize MES to support workflows and traceability.
· Pull and feed raw materials; manage inventory of components and finished goods.
· Perform formulation/media prep tasks including weighing, measuring, and checking raw materials to ensure proper ingredients and proportions per approved procedures.
· Lead simple analytical tests such as pH measurements to verify batch quality.
· Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
· Provide input on SOPs and assist in training new team members.
· Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with housekeeping and safety policies.
· Perform other duties as assigned and support overtime needs based on business requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize deviations from specifications.
· Effective communication and teamwork across departments.
· Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting charts, diagrams, and basic arithmetic.
· Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows-based systems.
· Familiarity with SAP and MES systems preferred.
· Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
