Lower School Teacher

The Lower School teacher at Cannon School, provides a safe, nurturing environment for students in their classroom utilizing the school's instructional program. The teacher works to create meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences in order to continue to build strong foundational skills for lifelong learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a classroom of 16-20 students on average

• Provide tutorials as necessary for students in need of extra academic support

• Communicate regularly with parents of students via letters, email, phone, and conferences

• Attend weekly grade level team meetings as designated by the grade level lead

• Attend mandatory faculty meetings and other events

• Maintain a positive attitude and conduct oneself professionally with respect to students, faculty, parents and the community

• Other duties, as assigned by the Head of Lower School

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years of experience preferred

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related educational field. At least 2 years of experience in an elementary classroom
