About the role
SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY is now accepting resumes for General Studies Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year in the Lower School (grades 1-5).
Responsibilities:-Cultivate a warm and caring classroom community-Develop lessons, unit plans, and curricular materials in collaboration with teaching team-Lead and facilitate learning experiences -Monitor and assess student progress around learning objectives, and differentiate instruction to address individual needs-Manage the class effectively -Maintain open communication with students, parents and administrators
Qualifications:-Strong ability to connect with students and develop an atmosphere of empathy, respect, and belonging-Understanding of social, emotional and cognitive development-Knowledge of best practices and ability to teach Language Arts, Math and Social Studies-Experience with differentiated instruction within a heterogeneous classroom setting-Use of educational technology to maximize student engagement-Ability to problem-solve in a positive, creative and encouraging manner-Creative, flexible, and open-minded approach to teaching
Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.About SAR:SAR Academy is a Modern Orthodox co-educational nursery through grade 8 day school located in Riverdale, NY.
