Position Title: Logistics Coordinator

Position Reports To: Senior Project Manager

 

Position Summary 

 The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for management of the procurement, delivery, inventory control, and on-site distribution of all project materials. The Logistics Coordinator ensures the accuracy of all project materials, quantities, and delivery times —supporting efficient workflow, cost control, and schedule adherence.

Essential Functions

  • Order insulation materials through vendors and coordinate delivery throughout project.

  • Manage onsite insulation supply for DC-1,3,5,6,7 to ensure material is available project is not delayed because of material shortages

  • Inventory material upon receiving delivery at site to ensure all items listed on bill of lading have been received.

  • Address any material discrepancies with the applicable vendor

  • Coordinate and organize offsite storage of insulation materials

  • Audit onsite storage to ensure material is being stored correctly and is secured to prevent theft

  • Identify means to enhance material management at site to drive efficiencies

  • Track all material received, ordered, and expected (future orders) based on material BOM's for job.

  • Includes tracking amount spent to date on materials and forecasting out remaining cost of material to complete job scopes

  • Ability to order / procure other items required by the project on behalf of the Sr. Project Manager. 

Education & Experience

  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record

  • Minimum 3 years of logistics / inventory experience on a large industrial or commercial project (preferred) 

OR

  • Minimum 5 years of logistics / inventory experience in a warehouse

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and change management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem solving environment.

  • Must understand financial implications of various business decisions

  • Ability to read construction drawings and bill of materials

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) 

Work Conditions/Physical Demands 

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.   

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.  

  • No adverse environmental conditions expected. 

  • Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
