About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland’s Property & Facilities Division is seeking a practical, customer-focused Logistics and Stores Assistant to support the smooth movement of equipment, resources and services across our St Lucia Campus and broader UQ community. Working within a small, collaborative Warehouse and Mailroom team, you will help keep campus life moving by supporting relocations, deliveries, waste services, stores activities and major University events, contributing to a purposeful environment where operational excellence helps UQ create change together.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and complete furniture, equipment and small office relocations across University campuses.

  • Support the safe movement, collection and disposal of waste, bulk e-waste, furniture and other materials.

  • Communicate with customers to schedule work requests, maintain records and support booking, inventory and warehouse systems.

  • Pick, pack, dispatch and deliver stores orders, internal and external mail, library materials and goods between UQ campuses.

About You

  • Completion of Year 12, or a Certificate II with at least two years of subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.

  • Experience in furniture removals, manual handling or moving bulky items in a safe and practical way.

  • Sound interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team and deliver reliable customer service to a diverse range of building occupants and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision while maintaining attention to safety, service standards and operational priorities.

  • A current Queensland Open Driver Licence, with confidence driving a small truck that can be operated on a car licence.

  • A forklift licence is desirable.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, warehouse, inventory or transport management systems, or the ability to learn new systems, would be advantageous.
