Line Operator

Job Purpose

Duties include maintaining operations in Dry Bins, Blenders, Forming Line, Loader, Press, Unloader, Return Conveyors, Pit, RCO, Control Room and Scale conveyors while maintaining a quality product. This is to be done while ensuring safety and environmental friendly operations while ensuring all forming and pressing equipment and work areas are maintained and in clean and safe operating order.  This position is intended as a transitional to the Press Operator position.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

Clean equipment and work area using a man-lift and scissor lift as required

Place debris in self-dumping hoppers. Use forklift to dispose of waste material

 Record voltages, temperature, pressures and speeds for blending, forming, press, saw-line and RCO areas

Maintain maintenance log

Inspect all area equipment daily and perform minor repairs using hand tools

Manually operates production equipment to diagnose and resolve production, environmental and quality issues

Communicate with Press Operator to ensure quality of product and smooth operation of the forming line.

 

 

What do I need to be successful?

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Valid certification to operate forklifts, scissor lifts and man-lifts

Ability to stand for extended periods

Ability to record data accurately

 Good eye / hand coordination

 Knowledge of operation of hand tools

Good verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality rules and regulations

Experience:

Basic knowledge production operations.   

Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

 

 

Education

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent desired

Work Environment

Exposure to wood, dust and resin fumes requiring use of PPE

Exposure to fluctuating temperatures

Regularly required to climb stairs and ladders, bend, squat and pull
