About the role

YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)

The Line Cook position reports to Chef Xue management and is responsible for performing basic and extensive food preparation and will be assigned to a specific station or multiple stations with others or individually. All duties are to be performed in accordance with SNHD, Chef Xue and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)

  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides and maintain all products throughout your shift to uphold storage and sanitation standards
  • Have working knowledge of all allergens, food menu items and special food menu items
  • Meet with leadership to review assignments, anticipate business levels, changes and other information pertaining food production or service
  • Ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are kept clean, used as intended and are in good working order
  • Meet Chef Xue standards regarding cleanliness as dictated by the SNHD
  • Utilize the communication channels set in place and be up to date on all aspects of service, safety, and operation protocols and procedures
  • Identify and limit waste and promote efficient productivity
  • Exercise professionalism and respect when communicating. Know each other's names
  • Maintain work schedule, daily time-punches, and sign-ins to ensure accuracy of timecards
  • Adhere to all house policies and standards
  • Promote a professional and respectful work atmosphere between all staff members
  • Perform proper changeover, opening, and closing duties
  • Maintain accountability to kitchen standards, set recipes, and performance procedures
  • Learn all stations and assist in all aspects of food prep responsibilities
  • Participate in seamless operation between BOH + FOH staff, ensuring proper service to our guests
  • Be accountable for your station assignments throughout the shift, following systems for station preparation, organization, storage, and cleaning
  • Always keep your active SNHD Food Handler's card with you while on property
  • Execute proper health and safety protocols while operating equipment, handling food, storing food, maintaining temperature & time control logs, and sanitizing as dictated by the SNHD
  • Report health and safety incidents and concerns directly to management in an accurate and timely manner
  • Contribute to successful SNHD health inspections
  • Actively participate in all scheduled required training sessions. We are constantly developing
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)

  • Active SNHD Food Handlers card
  • Strong communication skills, inclusive of spelling and grammar
  • Strong line cook or comparable background, and at least two years of recent experience at a high-volume establishment
