Your New Role...

The Oscar Pope Lift Every Voice Fellowship is a program that provides a platform and opportunity to student journalists of color at WBD Sports tentpole events.

Your Role Responsibilities...

• Students who are awarded the fellowship spend two weeks with WBD Sports working on assignments in three areas of focus:

• Assignment: Each fellow does an on-air report with WBD Sports talent or a star athlete participating in the tentpole. 

• Mentorship: Fellows are paired with WBD sports talent who provide mentorship and help them prepare for their on-air opportunity. Previous mentors include Ernie Johnson and Taylor Rooks. These relationships flourish and continue beyond the fellowship period.

• Production: Fellows meet with game and studio producers, work with them to prepare on-air reports and attend production meetings for both game and studio broadcasts.

• Social Media: Fellows are paired with a social producer to shadow on-site to create a piece of content published on brand handles (@NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport, etc.)

Qualifications & Experiences...

• Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate communications, journalism, or broadcasting program at an accredited college or university.
