An internship is a temporary position within Solventum. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment during the summer of 2025. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.

As a(n) Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary R&D teams, providing high quality experimental data and documentation delivering high quality results to improve and create novel healthcare products.
- Leading timely execution of prioritized laboratory tasks including preparation of biological samples, media and materials, microbiological test methods, and data collection
- Implementing best lab practices and aseptic technique to prepare microbial samples
- Documenting detailed experimental records and reporting results in both electronic and written format
- Contributing to the generation of intellectual property
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Completed a bachelor’s degree (or anticipated completion by June 2025) or higher from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- Experience with basic microbiology/molecular biology techniques or course work
- Pursuing graduate school in biological sciences
- Ability to work fully in-person during the internship, at the Maplewood, MN site
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Previous internship experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or life sciences field
- Experience working in a biological BSL1 or BSL2 laboratory
- Experience with setting up laboratory experiments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including documentation of work
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Onsite: Maplewood, MN, United States (5 days a week)
