Full Time | Monday-Friday | No Weekends | No Holidays | Off School Closings | Summers off with the ability to pick up shifts at Lake Cumberland Medical Associates Clinic

How you'll contribute  

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting.  Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures and standards.  Communicate with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

  • Obtains patient history, reason for visit, vital signs, height, weight, smoking status, allergies and current medication on all patient visits

  • Performs EKG’s, ear irrigations, draws injections accurately and administer correctly, administer medications (topical, oral or injection) correctly.  Collects and labels specimens properly and sends them to appropriate designated lab.

  • Assist in scanning documents, answering phones, scheduling appointments, talking messages, calling prescriptions or any other duties that will help with efficiency of the office.

  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting the patients’ rights.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

 What we are looking for:

 Required License: 

  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Current LPN licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky or a current LPN licensure with a multistate compact status

Certifications:

  • Current American Heart Association, BLS certificate or obtain within 90 days after hire date
