*Ability to remain composed and courteous under pressure or during emergency situations, maintaining respect and professionalism at all times. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: *Serve as a visible, uniformed presence to promote a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment within the library.
*Conduct regular patrols throughout the FLITE building, observing and reporting any concerning activity or conditions.
*Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards to safeguard the building, its occupants, and its resources.
*Respond promptly to emergencies, coordinating with external agencies, facilities staff, and other relevant personnel as needed.
*Maintain a detailed daily activity log and complete incident reports when necessary to document security-related events. Advertised Salary: $12.48- $13.24 Summary of Position: Library Security Assistants work primarily during the evenings with security coverage present Sunday through Thursday. A uniform shirt is provided and required during their shift. Library Security Assistants play a key role in fostering a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment within the FLITE building. Responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, monitoring activity throughout the facility, identifying and reporting safety concerns, and responding effectively to emergencies. In addition to ensuring the security of patrons and property, Library Security Assistants are expected to provide exceptional customer service to support a positive library experience for all visitors. Position Requirements: *Must be willing to wear a provided uniform while on duty.*Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Word.
