Job Summary
BCTC is seeking a dynamic and motivated librarian to join the library team. We are collaborative, flexible, and invested in the success of every student. We provide excellent service to our vibrant and diverse campus community, while contributing to a welcoming and enriching experience for library users. Our library serves all seven BCTC campuses with physical locations on Newtown and Leestown campuses.
Current opportunities are available in applying and developing skills in the following areas: programming and engagement, collaborative subject guides (Libguides), readers’ advisory, classroom and library instruction, electronic access and collections.
The position reports to the Director of Libraries.
Job Duties:
1. Provide reference and general library services, both in-person and online, on-demand and scheduled.
2. Collaborate with faculty to develop and deliver a full range of instruction and information literacy services. Conduct ongoing assessment in support of positive student learning outcomes.
3. Actively promote library resources and services through the creation, curation, and dissemination of content.
4. Develop and maintain effective relationships with community and campus partners to contribute to attracting and retaining students.
5. Develop and maintain relevant collections, including timely selection and deselection of materials. Work closely with faculty to ensure relevancy to curriculum, and learning outcomes, and facilitate access to Open Educational Resources and other zero-cost resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelors and four (4) years related experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree and one (1) to two (2) years experience.
