About the role

We are seeking someone to join our Legal Entity Controller team as an Analyst to manage the Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting function.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is an Analyst level position within the Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting

The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review

CCCR was established in 2012 as a key component of the Firm's control framework, leveraging existing functions in the Glasgow and Mumbai offices. Now consolidated as a global team, CCCR is responsible for the design and implementation of a Firm-wide system of controls for the General Ledger.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm

  • Develop an understanding of Finance functional area, tools and processes

  • Responsible for tasks to support team deliverables, with guidance, and appropriately escalate issues to ensure timely and effective resolution

  • Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls

  • Uphold the Firm's values and hold yourself accountable to Firm standards

  • Reporting - Provide core data and support for corporate, management, and financial & regulatory reporting.

  • KPI's / KRI's - monitor the functional KPI's and ensure the defined daily/ monthly metrics are met

  • Investigate balances in Suspense & Zero Balance Accounts, perform GL reconciliations, provide commentaries around the breaks, ageing analysis of these breaks.

  • Month End Balance Sheet substantiation and sign-off for ZBA - GL accounts.

  • SAP Suspense Reconciliation. Review daily output of ECS and release the balances held up in the system

  • Governance - Monitor GL account attestations, Review of exposure, provisions and variance explanations

  • Oversight of related party breaks - reconcile and chase controllers for clearing the related party breaks, review of related party exposures

  • Candidates for this role should be Commerce graduates / MBA's / Inter-CAs with an interest / aptitude for financial reporting, reconciliations and substantiation / analysis.
    Financial Services experience is an added advantage.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Strong appreciation of escalation and risk awareness

  • Analytical skills with a control focus and high regard for attention to detail

  • Critical thinking in order to challenge processes, solve the ad hoc queries and creativity to suggest alternative approaches.
    Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to deal with colleagues/clients & global stakeholders.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Quick learner

  • Have the flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
    At least 0-2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
