The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) and the College of Arts and Sciences (ASC) at The Ohio State University seek a Lecturer and ACCAD Archivist for a unique 50/50 appointment that combines teaching courses for the College of Arts & Sciences, with administrative duties aimed at preservation and interpretation of ACCAD's history. The successful candidate will devote approximately 50% effort to teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and 50% effort to leading an archival initiative that documents, preserves, and shares ACCAD's legacy through research, storytelling, digital media, and public exhibitions. This position will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and university partners to develop engaging digital and physical experiences that highlight ACCAD's impact on the fields of art, design, dance, theatre, music, and computing. 

Archivist Responsibilities (50%) 

  • Conduct archival research using physical and digital collections, oral histories, publications, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty, alumni, staff, and other stakeholders to gather historical materials and document institutional stories.
  • Organize, catalog, and preserve archival materials using accessible and sustainable archival practices.
  • Develop written narratives that communicate ACCAD's history, impact, and contributions.
  • Produce multimedia content, including videos, interviews, timelines, and interactive digital features.
  • Write and edit content for websites, exhibitions, promotional materials, and other public-facing communications.
  • Coordinate with student employees and designers to develop and maintain ACCAD history webpages and other digital resources.
  • Curate physical and virtual exhibitions highlighting significant projects, people, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with university partners to identify exhibition opportunities and public programming.
  • Develop project timelines and provide regular progress reports to the ACCAD Director.
