Learning Services Instructor 

This position is key to the future technical strength of our Longview site. 

  

The Learning Services Instructor is responsible for:  

•    The development and delivery of training materials on company processes and technologies 
•    Effectively evaluating apprentices as they progress through Related Instruction 
•    Assisting team members develop, maintain, and increase their technical and process knowledge  •    Facilitating an environment that is conducive to learning 
•    Ability to coach, mentor, and develop apprentices to help them progress to highly-skilled professional operators. 

 
This individual will work with moderate guidance and direction and will have direct impact on the skills developed across the Longview site.    Must be willing to work outside normal working hours, as needed.  This is a salary grade 15 Instructor role and a day schedule. 

 
Required Experience: 
•    Successful completion of the TXO Process Operator Apprenticeship Program  •    7 or more years as a Process Operator at TXO 
•    Strong preference for current Lead Operator 
•    Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of maintenance processes

1. Capable of implementing Criterion-Referenced Instruction/Instructional Module Design methodology in every aspect of instructor responsibilities in Learning Services 

• Content development, writing and updating responsibilities via computer 

1. Identify, develop, deliver and manage training course work for the related apprenticeship programs and non-apprentice craft training programs 

• Documentation of apprentice progress in our systems are critical for delivered training 

1. Knowledge and/or desire to learn and support of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner and Access 

1. Understand/follow written or verbal instructions/procedures (i.e. My Learning Lab Administration, Learning Center Monitor, Apprentice Lab/Instructor scheduling, B-86 Maintenance/Security, etc.) 

1. Follow all safety, environmental, and company rules and policies
