What will you do?Bixal seeks a Learning Manager to support the Enhancing Local Efforts for Vital, Transformative, and Evidence-based Nutrition (ELEVATE Nutrition) activity, a 5-year multi-sectoral nutrition activity with the goal of advancing local ownership and leadership of high-quality nutrition programs and policies to address the underlying causes of malnutrition and improve the nutritional status of women and children globally. This role will provide technical support in facilitating the exchange of critical learning from USAID’s global investments in multi-sectoral nutrition to advance the project goals, implementation quality, and availability of evidence around nutrition programming. They will support the Deputy Director of KM and Dissemination by contributing to the ability of the project to foster learning within and between USAID/Washington, USAID Missions and with other key stakeholders implementing USAID’s nutrition work.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate the exchange of learning around evidence-based practices in multi-sectoral nutrition programming for USAID.
- Support USAID and local partners to select and implement innovative approaches for amplifying learning including USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) Framework, problem-driven iterative adaptation (PDIA), continuous quality improvement, action learning, and other methodologies as appropriate.
- Collaboratively design and facilitate learning forums and events, Pause and Reflect activities, workshops, and other kinds of activities to facilitate learning.
- Drive stakeholder engagement initiatives, peer-to-peer exchanges, field visits, and Communities of Practice to support enhanced collaboration and adaptive management practices among various USAID actors and activities.
- Champion evidence-based program design for USAID and partners by supporting activities that review and validate the activity’s Theory of Change assumptions and causal linkages.
- Support activities to capture, document, and utilize local evidence and learning about nutrition best practices across and within geographic and operational contexts.
- Support the development and implementation of ELEVATE Nutrition’s Learning Agenda focused on multi-sectoral nutrition-based programming for USAID and partners and advise the development of country-based Learning Agendas, as applicable.
- Regularly coordinate between other workstreams and teams, including Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) and local capacity, to ensure that learning activities are well-integrated.
- Lead and/or support other activities as requested.
Qualifications
- University degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Organizational Learning, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5-7 years of post-degree experience working on complex international development programs, preferably in the sectors of nutrition, food security, and/or agriculture.
- Expertise in USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) Framework.
- Expertise in leading a wide range of learning-focused activities, including facilitating Pause and Reflect sessions, workshops, Peer Assists and Exchanges, Learning Agendas, and Theory of Change workshops.
- Experience with facilitating online and face-to face approaches (e.g. workshops, webinars) to achieve learning objectives.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with evidence of ability to establish strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in adult learning and participatory facilitation techniques.
- Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team with a high degree of sensitivity and cultural competence.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to travel 10-20%.
- Ability to work core hours of 8:00 am - 1:00pm EST as well as outside of those hours when required.
