Learning Designer to support the planning, designing, and development of effective online and hybrid learning experiences; actively collaborating with individual faculty, program leads, and departments to support their online and innovative learning needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyzing and applying instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
Creating engaging and effective learning activities and compelling course content.
Communicating and collaborating with faculty or subject matter experts in planning courses, selecting appropriate educational technology, and identifying course delivery strategies.
Working with media professionals and video production team to facilitate online and hybrid student engagement.
Exploring new course design strategies and contemporary learning models.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in instructional design, education, communication, media, or relevant field.
Three years of demonstrated experience in building technologically mediated courses.
Strong understanding of instructional design models and principles, educational theory, and instructional technology.
Experience developing engaging instructional materials in Canvas or other learning management systems such as Blackboard, D2L, Moodle, Open edX, etc.
Consideration may be given to candidates with a Master’s degree; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360, HTML/CSS, and WCAG; specialties within emerging technologies, graphic design, media production, project management, or advanced-level LMS and technology support; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts; three years of demonstrated experience in building technologically mediated courses, preferably in higher education; teaching experience, whether online, hybrid, or face-to-face; and knowledge of pedagogical theory, digital media standards, and best practices that empower the effective use of technology in learning.
