We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.
This role is onsite at Bell’s Advanced Composite Center in Fort Worth, TX.
Materials Planning & Control – Leader – 2nd shift ACC
Due to exponential growth in demand for Bell aircraft, this manufacturing facility is expanding to a 2nd shift and we are looking for leaders that like and desire 2nd shift work which is 3:30 pm to 12:00 am Monday through Friday on week 1 and Monday through Thursday on week 2 of our standard 9/80 schedule.
The Leader of Materials Planning and Control will be ultimately responsible for the overall execution of the production support teams.
This includes but are not limited to the general assigning, managing and directing of the daily production support activities of up to 25 union covered employees within their assigned area to support on schedule delivery to all customers, internal and external.
What you’ll be doing as a Materials Planning & Control – Leader:
· Ensure the safety of all assigned personnel and monitor employees’ compliance to safety.
· Supervise Dispatching personnel by assessing build plans, delegating work assignments and monitoring the quality and quantity of daily work performed.
· Provide direction, counseling, training, and instructions as required to achieve departmental and program goals.
· Oversee kitting areas and ensure kits are ordered, inventoried, secured, and delivered to the shop floor complete and on time to meet the production schedule.
· Monitor detail shortages/maintain Shop Floor Control data required to identify potential critical items in order to effectively manage the movement of parts and material.
· Work with Resource Analysts and Operations Planning and Control to identify constraints to ensure positive throughput.
· Attend meetings as required and work all issues that may impact schedule.
· Support the efforts of cost reduction through work in process and inventory control.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To this Role:
· High School Diploma or GED, Bachelors Degree is preferred in Operations, Business Management or related discipline
· At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Warehousing, and/or Dispatching or Prior Team Leadership in the US Military may be considered equivalent experience.
· At least one of prior team leadership experience (direct leadership or indirect leadership).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability and desire to work 2nd shift – 3:30 pm to 12:00am on Bell's 9/80 schedule.
