At Humana, we are leading the industry in health quality reporting and improvement driving better outcomes for our providers and members. In this role, you will oversee an IT investment portfolio for a critical business area within Humana. You will lead all topics related to technical investments for the area as well as act as the department’s liaison for all related topics. In this role you will be a direct report to the Fellow of Interoperability.

               

As a Lead of Tech Strategy Advancement, the ideal candidate will be comfortable leading work associated with technology investments in a matrixed organization. To be successful in this position you will need to align IT investment priorities across multiple business areas, assist with issue resolution, and ensure business case justifications are made for all investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate as the strategic point of contact for the department’s IT projects and investments.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with impacted business areas (e.g., internal, external, etc.).
  • Create criteria for measuring compliance to state and federal regulations, and business outcomes.
  • Review, analyze, and assist other business areas with issue resolution.
  • Design and oversee the creation and implementation of processes to improve data quality.
  • Work collaboratively within a matrixed team environment with many competing priorities.
  • Consult with other business areas, helping to identify business requirements and translating those into system specifications that advance department initiatives.
  • Create and lead initiatives for special projects, developing a greater understanding of system and environmental issues in the process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare studies or related field.
  • 8+ years of technical experience including:
  • 4+ years of technical project and relationship management experience.
  • 2+ years managing budgets, and/or technology capacity planning.
  • 2+ years of data analytics experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years healthcare experience.
  • Experience in healthcare interoperability, including FHIR
  • 4+ years of technical or product management experience.
  • Experience in IT Architecture
  • SAFe or other agile certifications.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage, and experience leading an operational unit.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
