Job Description Summary

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Main Campus, the Services Assistant D (“Lead Tech, Receiving”) coordinates the day-to-day operations of the PSOM’s package receiving and distribution function. The Lead Tech trains Building Services Assistants (“BSA”) in the Receiving function. This position organizes and assigns the effort of the BSA’s as it pertains to the Receiving function, providing work assignment performance feedback to the Supervisors. Using the automated package tracking system, the Lead Tech operates, reconciles, and reports on volumes and statuses of dock through-put. The Lead Tech oversees BSA proper use of the automated package tracking system, cognizant of maintaining data integrity and ensuring proper collection of, and reporting on, barcode and other package data. The Lead Tech assigns delivery routes, ensuring chain-of-custody information is correctly maintained. This position works to fundamentally assure that members of the PSOM community receive the highest quality services from the package receiving and distribution function within the Support Services division of Spaces Planning & Operations. This is a working Lead Tech position in that the Lead Tech may be required to assume other responsibilities in times of high-volume or short-staff conditions. The job requires walking, standing, use of standard tools, lifting, and moving of often-delicate equipment between 100-500 pounds. The job requires the ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted. The Lead Tech must be physically able to perform all functions of this position. This position is considered “essential.”

Job Description

  • Education / Experience:  High School Grad/GE Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; at least two years’ experience in related work environment preferred
