Lead Software Engineer - Azure

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Enterprise Technology - Azure Cloud Enablement team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Responsible for the accuracy of the Standards Engineering and Architecture Library for a product.  A product may be a specific product or a group of products.  
• The key control functions and responsibilities may include: providing detailed analysis and reporting on product roles, product groups, product access, dependencies, and the lifecycle.
• Working with internal teams to drive forth and implement robust controls and new business initiatives, driving coordination across various engineering and support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner.
• Serving as an analytical and product support resource and handling various ad-hoc requests on a daily basis. 
• Acquire detailed knowledge of applicable product definitions & operating procedures, including upstream and downstream process flows.
• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Relevant experience working with application lifecycle, controls, operating procedures, and ensuring secure access.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience
• Microsoft Azure Functional certification
